"Trikātas siers" factory is one of the oldest dairies in Latvia. It started its operation as early as in the end of 19th century at the White House of Trikāta Manor House. The dairy’s production was sold to buyers in Latvia and to salesmen abroad.
Nowadays, "Trikātas siers" is still well know and highly appreciated among consumers. Its production is very diverse and will satisfy wishes of the most demanding gourmets. It offers classical semi-hard cheeses, soft, fresh and low-fat cheeses, as well as blue cheese.
At the end of 2006, Dairy Producers Cooperative "Trikāta KS" became the new owner of "Trikātas siers". Thus, this is one of the rare enterprises owned by farmers themselves. The value of "Trikātas siers" is based not only on its strong link with the farmers, its quality, excellent taste properties and cherished recipes, but also on the fact that in the small factory each wheel of cheese is special, made with loving and warm hands.
Company’s development plans envisage expansion of exclusive cheeses production. New technologies are being introduced and developed to be able to produce high quality products which could be competitive also in the global market.
"Trikātas siers” has "Zaļā karotīte" Certificate, and the company has Bio Cheeses line which uses milk from farms with the Bio Certificate.
Over the years, cheese experts of "Trikātas siers" have received well earned recognition of their work. In 2010, "Trikātas siers" was awarded a golden medal and received several awards and nominations at the Cheese and Cream Competition organised by the Latvian Dairy Producers' Central .
